Acunity is my own company, and has provided a wide range of creative and digital courses to digital and creative company across west Yorkshire and beyond.
I built this website at the outset of the company and it has played a key role in marketing courses and together with custom analytics’s, has secured business and enquiries from the Cabinet Office, National Criminal Intelligence Service, Hallmark cards, DWP amongst other high profile clients.
This site required a back-end database to deliver the training course listings, as well as for for news pages and customer quotes – all an easily navigable form. In addition, a facility was provided to allow delegates to post comments on courses they had attended.
Custom web analytics
This site also featured custom analytics, which provide complementary and supplemental detailed information about user journeys than Google Analytics. The custom solution was extremely useful in providing historical data, a fact which proved essential when a bogus copyright claim was made on an image on the site.
We were able to demonstrate that although the image concerned was included on the web site server, it had never been displayed publicly, and a £1,000 copyright claim was resolved in our favour.
We would not have been able to defend against this speculative claim without our own custom analytics.
Long-tail SEO
There are vast numbers of training companies out there, and we needed an appropriate (niche) strategy to bring customers to our site and ultimately to book courses with us.
The strategy we adopted was successful in bringing customers from The United Nations, The Cabinet Office, NCIS amongst other high profile clients, which we considered a major success for what is a very small company pitted against some huge competition.
